Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. Maggie Grace is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio left high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. However, in 2001, despite difficulties with money she managed get her first significant part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room playing the main character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich where she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She played the lead protagonist for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. The show ended in 2005 and Grace wanted to appear on film more frequently, having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice on Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon once more in the show's finale and in two additional episodes. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the sixth season. She plays Faith who's a star-gazer and groupie. She's a Gyllenhaal, the daughters of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), she is a bit younger than Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in films starring her father in his adolescent years. With her brother, she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance as the lead actress in Secretary (2002) which is the erotic drama about romance and Sherrybaby (2006). She received a nomination from The Golden Globe Award. Following several commercially-successful films, such as World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In recognition of her role as the single mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Following that she was able to star in comedies along with dramas, such as Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) as well as Will Not Back Down (12). Her other roles are as an agent for the Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she is the title character. In 2021, Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
